Obstetrics & Prenatal Care in Oxford, MS

MAKING YOUR PREGNANCY JOURNEY SAFE AND COMFORTABLE

Pregnancy comes with a lot of firsts, and a lot of questions. At Oxford Clinic for Women, we've been walking Oxford-area families through prenatal care, delivery, and everything after for years. Your visits aren't rushed, your questions get real answers, and when it's time for an ultrasound, you don't have to drive across town for it. From your first prenatal visit to your postpartum checkup, you're seeing the same familiar faces the whole way through.

Prenatal Care

Your prenatal visits follow a schedule built around where you are in your pregnancy, more frequent as you get closer to your due date. Each one includes time to actually talk through how you're feeling, not just a quick check and out the door. If anything about your pregnancy needs extra attention, whether that's your age, your health history, or how a past pregnancy went, that gets built into your care plan from the start.

Ultrasounds

Most pregnancies include a handful of ultrasounds along the way. Because we do these in-house, you're not scheduling a separate appointment somewhere else or waiting on records to get sent over. Your provider sees the same images you do, right when you need them to make a call about your care.

Childbirth Services

When it's time to deliver, you're working with a team that already knows your pregnancy, not meeting you for the first time in the delivery room. That continuity carries into the days right after birth, too, when you're adjusting to a new baby and your body is doing its own recovering. We check in during that stretch instead of disappearing after delivery.

Infertility

If you've been trying to conceive for a while without success, it's worth talking to someone rather than waiting it out. Our providers can help figure out what might be going on and walk through your options from there, at a pace that makes sense for you.

FAQ

When should I schedule my first prenatal appointment?

Most providers like to see you around 8 weeks, though it depends on your cycle and how early you get a positive test. If you have a history of pregnancy complications or a condition that needs monitoring from the start, call as soon as you know. We may want to see you sooner.

What happens at my first prenatal appointment?

Your first visit runs longer than the ones that follow. Expect a full health history, a physical exam, baseline bloodwork, and usually your first ultrasound to confirm how far along you are. It's also a good time to bring any questions. Nothing is too small.

How many ultrasounds will I have during my pregnancy?

Most uncomplicated pregnancies include a few, one early on to confirm dates, an anatomy scan later, and sometimes a growth check in the third trimester. If your pregnancy needs closer monitoring, your provider may recommend more.
